About the Hope Fortus Pro Boost 27. 5 The Hope Fortus 27. 5" wheel comes from the Fortus series, which Hope designed as a worthy successor of the successful Tech wheels. "Fortus" is derived from the Latin "fortis" meaning strong. The rims are wider, designed for stiffness, but not too heavy. Hope has retained the Pro 4 hubs (Boost) with their enlarged flange diameter. With an internal width of 30mm & 35mm, this version of the Fortus is aimed at plus tyre riders in the Enduro and Freeride sector. In recent years the trend has moved to wider and wider rims to match increasing tyre profiles. The rims feature an optimised profile to keep rigidity, without adding excessive weight.
